Declared as UNESCO’s World Heritage Site, ASEAN Heritage Park, and a Protected Area in the Philippines – Mount Hamiguitan Range Wildlife Sanctuary is renowned for its rich biodiversity, lush forests, and natural treasures.

The Sanctuary is famed for the unique pygmy forest featuring trees that are centuries old while housing plenty of endangered, endemic, and rare species of flora and fauna. Among them are the Philippine Eagles and several species of Nepenthes.

The trek takes three days, where you will be hiking for 5-6 hours per day. Waiting at the peak for the bravest of climbers is the Tinagong Dagat and the Twin Falls.

From Davao to Mount Hamiguitan

1. From Airport, ride a taxi heading to Davao Ecoland Terminal.
2. At the terminal, ride a bus or van heading to Governor Generoso. This usually takes about 3-4 hours.
3. When you arrive at the town proper of Governor Generoso, ride a habal-habal heading to Mount Hamiguitan Museum.

1. LEARN ABOUT THE SANCTUARY
– There is an interpretation site located at the foot of the mountain, so get in some learning about the sanctuary!

2. WATCH BIRDS AT THE VIEW DECK
– The bird-watching view deck is perfect if you want to observe birds in their normal lives.

3. TRY THE HANGING BRIDGE
– The hanging bridge is a must try if you want to see an aerial view of the mountain.

4. TREK THE NATURE TRAIL
– Aside from the 3 day hike, there is a natural trail for leisure hiking.

5. SEE THE SUNSET
– The sunset view deck provides the most romantic set up.

– The coffee at Cafe Hamiguitan is one of a kind so you must give it a go!
